The new event will rely on the contributions of the new partners in creating a relevant panel of initiatives during the first edition (Treviso, Italy, June 11-13)
Promoting cycling, greater awareness and a more sustainable lifestyle is among Open Bike Fest’s most prominent goals. The new event on the bike and cycling world, in every facet, will take place from June 11th to 13th in Treviso, at Opendream, the Excellence Square resulted from the urban regeneration of the former Pagnossin manufacture.
The new format that matches expo, experience and discovery, while giving significant room to bike lifestyle and culture meetings and think-tanks, is finding great appreciation early on.
The FIAB (Italian Environment and Bike Association) and Bike Economy Observatory announced their support to Open Bike Fest, joining significant corporations and partners such as the Veneto Region, Assindustria Veneto Centro, Unioncamere Veneto, the Treviso Municipality, Marca Treviso Foundation and the Cycling in the Venice Garden Network.
FIAB is an environmentalist organization focusing on the promotion of the bike as a green way of transportation to reshape urban and suburban areas, also a cornerstone of the Open Bike Fest project.
“FIAB is pleased to join forces with this important event in a moment of significant revitalization for bikes and cycling, both in tourism and as means of transportation. We look forward to contributing with our expertise to cover and analyze sustainable mobility in all its facets”, said FIAB President Alessandro Tursi.
The Bike Economy Observatory is an international benchmark when it comes to studies on sustainable transportation from an economic point of view. It is the ideal partner to analyze the positive trend about bike mobility and tourism, as well as the massive opportunities for further development. As of today, the bike economy in Europe is worth around 500 billion, while in Italy, the Recovery Plan will allocate 32 billion for infrastructures, growth and development of sustainable mobility.
”Open Bike Fest is a high-profile and innovative concept that perfectly fits our idea of promotion and development of green transportation, with a careful eye for cycling,” said Gianluca Santilli, the President of Bike Economy Observatory. – “For us, it is important to be a partner of this event, which fosters knowledge about a phenomenon and a topic with an extreme growth potential, highly relevant for both Italy and Europe”.
Both FIAB and Bike Economy Observatory will actively collaborate with Open Bike Fest to enrich the event’s schedule with top-class workshops about cycling culture and lifestyle.
